Brussels readies for 'Super Tuesday' climate vote Read at Euractiv
Following the Energy and Climate package presented by the European Commission last January, the European Parliament, through its Environment Committee, will be voting on three specific subjects tomorrow: the first vote will be on the revision of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme; the second vote will be on the burden sharing between EU member states in order to reach the objective of 20% reduction of CO2 by 2020; the third vote will be on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

IEA calls for major boost in renewable energy use Read at Euractiv
The International Energy Agency warns in a new report that we must use 50% of renewable energy for electricity supplies by 2050. According to the Agency, Germany, Spain, Denmark and Portugal are the most efficient countries in terms of onshore windpower, the UK coming 31st in the ranking.
